A Private App for Two, With No Feed and No Followers
A lot of apps marketed at couples still have the bones of a social app: a profile, a feed, something to post, something other people can see. Even when it's private by default, the shape of a feed encourages performing a relationship instead of just having one.
No feed means nothing to curate
When there's a feed, even a private one, there's an implicit audience: future you, scrolling back, or a partner comparing this week's posts to last week's. A mailbox doesn't have that shape. A note is just a note, read once or reread later, not part of a stream you're maintaining.
No account means no profile to manage
Lovebeam doesn't ask for an email or a password. A device credential and one invite code connect two phones. There's no username, no bio, no public-facing anything, because there's no public at all. Just the mailbox and whoever it's paired with.
Privacy that doesn't need a settings menu to understand
The honest version of this: notes travel over HTTPS to a server so they can be scheduled and delivered while your phone is asleep. That's not end-to-end encryption, and it shouldn't be described as such. What it is: no public profile, no feed, no one else with an account who could ever see it, and notifications that never preview what a note says.

Is this end-to-end encrypted like a secure messenger?
No, and it's worth being direct about that. Notes travel over HTTPS and the server can read them to schedule and deliver while your phone is off. What it doesn't have is any public profile, feed, or follower. There's no audience for a note to perform for, encrypted or not.
Can anyone else see that we're paired, or see our notes?
No. There's no public profile or discovery feature. Pairing happens through a single invite code exchanged privately between two people, and nothing about the pairing or the notes is visible to anyone outside it.
